From India with Love
---------------------------------------------------------------I was stuck in the traffic. 1st thing, I thank god for having a tool called Blackberry, things I do using this fantastic tool: 1. Read news 2. Check weathers 3. Read friends Blogs 4. Use Facebook 5. View the stoke market website Back to the traffic, I was stuck for 2 and half an hour. I started to believe I live in one of the Indian city but not in Dubai. With all my respect to the Indians and Dubai. People here got no manners and no attitude towards the way they drive. It’s a chaos. Big time!! I stopped bothering to be honest but I hate going to work in the morning because of this reason. I have no clue how people they do it every morning. I have been to a few Indian cities and the culture of driving there exported to our country. Sometimes I wish if they give me the authority just to stop people who got no manners from drive. Who shall I blame? The Policemen or the drivers? A big question mark??? Talking about Indian’s, I am at the moment in the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal Calcutta. It’s just an amazing hotel, Grand Hyatt. The town is not to the standard of our life style that we are normally use to. First time I have been here I thought I am a spoiled lucky guy. I really feel sorry for the poor kids when they come to you at the airport begging you for money. I stopped giving money away to people most of the time because I don't know where this money might go. I use the charity funds its more appropriate and keep directing people to there. However, my bag is full of cheap hotel's pen which I tend to collect and give it away in those areas. The business lounge is great in the hotel. I am currently on the fifth floor with a beautiful view over the pool and the greenish trees a round it. People are so nice, service is excellent and everything end up with a big smile. Can you imagine I have approximately 12 Chinese people around me in the lounge? there are everywhere even in India *LOL* Recently, I finished reading a book which I had on my shelves for so long but never got the chance to read it. I finished it in 4 days. It’s a very funny, cute, easy to digest and cool book. The book called Thekrayat Sameen Sabeq written by Turkey El Dakheil. Pictures below was taken from various flights i have done recently. Time for me to go to bed. I got a early morning wakeup call *urghhh* i hate it. good night.. From Munich with Love...
---------------------------------------------------------------Everything started with a phone call from my dad, asking me if I am going to Munich. The answer was affirmed. He asked me to go and buy heater for an old relative who is there. I didn't take long to find a heater however when I put it in my suit case I felt its going to look weird in the x-ray machine. The security looked at me with this un comfortable look and his eyes was wondering what's that thing? Before he asks I answered him telling him I got a heater *LoL*. After approaching the hotel, I decide to visit my relative immediately and stayed there for a couple of hours. After that I took the underground to where all the shops are. Let me stop here and start talking about the underground in this city. Its another life down there. Its a city underneath a city. German people are very well known of producing heavy machines. It took me a while to understand the concept of their underground and how fascinating it is. It’s a 7 stories under the city. It’s again as I said a city underneath one. Back to the walking part, I really love to walk in Europe. After a long walk in the market I decide to join the German by sitting in one of the cafés. Sipping a hot chocolate drink is my favourite in cold weather. Trust me there is nothing better than that in a cold weather. Bayern Munich was playing I guess, so the whole street was cover by the color of their T-Shirts. At 7:30 met my old guy the Capt. Which is normal things as no one showed up. So we ended up having dinner together and kept blabbering for couple of hours. It was good fun. This was my 2nd time going for breakfast in Munich since I start flying there. First time was when I met my cousins in the summer and this time *LOL*. Again the Capt popped into my fast and we had breakfast together. Later on I went for grocery shop and spent a an hour in the gym running and watching BBC. Currently, this was written while maintaining 39,000. Trying our best to not meet at the same point. It’s us & two other aircrafts. We are all going to Dubai. At some stage we are going to use the same route. As a result, we increased out speed burned a bit more fuel. 2nd guy climbed higher and 3rd person reduced his speed. As our Indian friend’s say “same same but different”. From Africa with Love..
---------------------------------------------------------------I am writing this on my way home from Dar es Salaam ( Tanzania ). It was a quiet good unique experience. A bit different from Nairobi which is my favorite African destination but this was not bad at all. The hotel was awesome I really had great time. Our crew were so amazing, we hanged out around the pool met crew from another airline we chatted and had a good laugh later on went for dinner. The food was unbelievable. These countries got a great potential for the future if they are smart enough to get people to invest. Never the less, the infra structure there require a lot of work. As a third world country or African country I think Tanzania is doing a good job. People are so friendly and nice. They welcome you with a big warm smile. As my captain said today "Happiness is a wide arrow" I don’t know what this to do with Tanzanian people. Its one of the rare places where people are so nice and they don't try to be nice aiming for what's in your pocket *money*. The minute I walked into the hotel most of them welcomed me a started greeting me for Eid *hehe*. Every time I go to these places in Africa I realize how lucky we are in our country. Its so interesting to see in Africa the women is walking in the street carrying wood on top of their head. It reminds me of the old days in our mothers and granny’s. On the side of the road you see old people sitting on the ground under trees. A few kids walking back home from school. A few people selling things in the street. I don't know it reminded me of the old day’s stories as well. They have the right to have a decent life. Everyone on earth has the right to live a decent life. Regardless of their religions, color and where they come from. sorry guys there is no picture on this update.. 10.16.07 @ 04:34 AM UAE 4 Comments Friday, October 12th

thoughts at 40,000 feet
---------------------------------------------------------------A few days ago I went back to work.. All what I have been doing are these short night flights. It’s not bad especially in Ramadan. However, it’s so tiring on long term basis. I think this Ramadan I was lucky as I got 20 days leave and days off during Eid so its working with me so far unless I receive a phone call in the middle of the night asking me to get into my uniform. At the moment we are cruising at flight level 40000, somewhere over Romania. The whole area is cover with clouds. I can see the sun is still up. In a few hours it will go down and then I have to do the Eftar announcement. A friend of mine asked me once, Am I happy and satisfied with career? Without any thinking I answered yes. There are advantages and disadvantages in everything in life. I always try to look to the bright side of the story. I have seen the new ipod touch its looks really great with all the features in has. Even the new ipod nano it looks so nice as well.. anyways, I have to get ready to come back home. To be continued... 10.07.07 @ 07:52 PM UAE No Comments |
