March 17, 2008 @ 10:00 - Surgery at the XXXXXXX Hospital.

My last update was about me thinking of going somewhere for a nice holiday but I changed my mind and decide to do the Surgery that was waiting for so long. Everyting is fine, I am recovering slowly but surely.

The good side of this vacation is that I am with the family and enjoying my time at home.

I still do check my messages here every now and then, for those of you leaving me comments and notes, etc. I do read them.

Over the Arabian Sea

We are running late tonight as we had delay in our home base due to some minor technical. I got into writing mood to kill some time.

I continued writing on the way back home its 02:00 a.m. in the morning. There is traffic at this time as well. The flight was not tiring nice crew and I had fun. I reached home I still don't feel tired this is the first Friday night/morning I should say that I stay home and not flying. I reached home had a juice and watched TV. There is Nothing much to do. I am going to sleep soon. I miss coming back to Abu Dhabi. I miss my family as well. The only joy I have in life is my career and going to the gym plus a few things I do here and there. I have not been to a movie for a while.

I had an incident that upset me a bit a few days ago. I had no car and was forced to take a taxi, which I really don't mind at all. However, the story begins with a very weird sick driver. His attitude and behavior was not acceptable at all. I am very patients and easy going person. The only mistake I did was that I asked him to take me home. He started shouting and swearing in the car. I saw him hitting his self and banging his head to the staring. I was like what's wrong with this guy!! The way he wasting was totally careless. For a second I thought the guy lost his mind. When I asked him if he is ok he answered “traffic sir, oh my god traffic” – between me and myself “Amm, what the hell is your job if you can’t stand traffic!”

He kept going like this and swearing. I didn't want to put extra pressure on him but I decide to complain to the RTA . I reached my destination luckily safe. Next thing I did was call 8009090. Filed my complain over the phone. They were very pro. Accepted the complaint and listen to all I said gave me a Ref. Number to follow up. A few days later I called them to check if they took some action. They put me on hold for 20 min. they claim every time I call that they are looking for the complaint. It has been more than 4 weeks now and nothing happened. I am 100% sure that now nothing will happen.

What really bothered me was that Dubai spends millions of Dirham’s on its image and having a careless driver like this will spoil this beautiful image we got. These drivers should be punished and fired. His attitude and behavior plus he driving skills were not even up to the average standard. I have no idea what's the RTA's policy regarding this matter but I promised myself that I will take it to the next level. I am as disappointed as I could be because I do care about the image of the country and these public services should be up to a certain standard. I called the local news and explained to them what happened to me. Now I want an official apology from RTA or Taxi Dubai for this driver behavior and an action to be taken towards him.
What if this driver kills someone?
What if he killed me that day?
What if someone goes back to their home and say what a bad services and country as we always do when we get bad service somewhere. Etc...
Let's see what will happen and how RTA will act I promise you to let you know soon!

Sorry for that long story. I have finished reading two books recently and I am starting a new book. It’s very exciting and interesting. I will start my leave this month soon after two flights inshallah. All what I need is a sandy beach and beautiful sun.
